What We Look For To Write for Us

If you have an inspiring, empowering, or uplifting health-related journey that you feel could help others in the Sicklyconfidential.com community, we welcome you to send us your story. Stories that get published on SicklyConfidential.com:

  • Explain what your condition is and what the symptoms were for you or explain a procedure you have had (example titles: What is a Port Flush? or What is Fibromyalgia? My Story)
  • Have not been published elsewhere
  • Aim to empowereducate, and are relatable to our community
  • Embrace a confident and positive attitude while still being real and honest

Guidelines to Write for Us
(Easy peasy)

  • LENGTH:
    • Submissions should be between 500 and 1500 words. Have a clear title, subtitle, and takeaways.
  • QUALITY:
    • Personal stories should be written with the goal of inspiring readers who may be going through similar circumstances, with an overarching tone that is positive and empowering.
  • TOPIC:
    • Write for us articles / blogs must be related to explaining what your condition is like and a positive empowering way to live with it. Topics may include but are not limited to:
      • Chronic conditions
      • Chronic illness
      • Rare disease
      • Undiagnosed disease
      • Invisible illness
  • REFERENCED:
    • Do not attempt to sell anything or spam our community.
    • If you quote a statistic, it must be cited.
  • ORIGINAL & AUTHENTIC:
    • Must be mostly original and should not be published elsewhere in its entirety (if you’ve posted the blog elsewhere, modify 30% of it including the title).
  • AUTHOR BIO:
    • Along with your submission, include a short Author Bio, with your website/blog links, and at least one high quality photo or video (strongly preferred). 
    • A good bio is less than 150 words
  • EDITING:
    • Sickly Confidential reserves the right to edit the wording and titles and formatting
